PAICTA introduces the Pamoja Digital Learning Portal (P2DL) to help equip young people by empowering both teachers and learners with emerging technology 4IR skills and smart learning from disadvantaged schools also offering Cisco courses.
There is nothing that PAICTA values more than equipping young people with STEM subjects in rural and peri-rural communities in South Africa and the African continent.

There is no doubt that African countries face a crisis in STEM education, with school students lacking the necessary experience to pursue further studies in STEM and pursue careers in STEM, particularly those from under-served communities.
It has been reported that SA has a shortage of qualified stem-related personnel. The truth is that our world is changing and that people must be digitally savvy.

Not only does the portal assist with grade 12 learning materials and tutors in STEM disciple it has also added English and accounting subjects. It offers other opportunities such as providing career guidance, equipping and preparing learners for a higher learning institution, providing university applications and bursary application options, and also offering subject selectors to guide pupils on courses that they may apply and qualify for.
In order to spread awareness of the portal, PAICTA visited the Gqeberha-based Ntsonkotha High School to present it. They are currently collaborating with this high school and reaching out to other schools.

‘The aim of P2DL is to try and bridge the gap between disadvantaged communities and technology, advocating for the poor, and equipping them technologically’ Phumela Rafane PAICTA
